We recently got an update from this talented Interior Designer Andrew Suvalsky sharing with us the completion of a new project for a New York Upper West Side apartment tagging it as “a colorful West Side Pad with Hudson River views.”  Colorful to say the least!

I think Andy’s style is fabulous.  His use of color is absolutely stunning in this project; fresh, modern, clean and intimate is how I would describe it.  He has completed interior design projects all over New York city – Chelsea, Central Park West (my old neighborhood), Gramercy Park, Madison Square Park, a penthouse in Soho, Sutton Place and the Lower East Side.  (click here to read more about Andrew) For now, let’s check out this New York based Designer’s work on the Upper West Side:

Ok, here we go!  Color, color, color!  It’s wonderful how this guest bedroom has a nice infusion of color in a simple way, but incorporating that yellow throw across the bed with a splash of orange with that little pillow makes the room pop.  The pillow is small, but it adds a “punch” to the entire room simply by being orange and the mirror gives off a reflecting blue hue.  It’s almost like the mirror is tinted blue.  Is it tinted blue?
It’s all about the color schemes and the small details; notice how the orange in the object on the nightstand connects with the orange in the harlequin wallpaper.  After seeing all these colors I’m convinced that purple goes with any color it’s just so dynamic looking and soothing at the same time.  The purple and peacock blue fabric and sky blue rug adds an “oasis” type feeling to the room.
Apparently Andy knows a lot about Feng Shui design as well.  Actually,  he’s an expert in Feng Shui design, but that’s a future  article we’ll cover about Andrew Suvalsky Designs.  In the mean time click here to learn more about this designer and/or to confirm his availability to work on your next color makeover.
